　　南京大学历史学院始于1902年建立的三江师范学堂国史科，1952年院系调整时，由原中央大学历史学院、边疆政治系和金陵大学历史系合并成为南京大学历史系。2014年12月撤销历史学系建制，成立南京大学历史学院学院，下设中国历史系、世界历史系、考古文物系三系，以及中华民国史研究中心、新中国史研究院、国际关系研究院、中国边政研究所等学术机构。

　　历史学院现有中国史、世界史、考古学三个一级学科，在历次学科评估中均名列前茅。学院拥有一支高水平的教师队伍，总体规模约80人，其中长江学者特聘教授3名，四青人才3名。

　　历史学院办学历史悠久，师资力量雄厚，本硕博人才培养体系完整，教学科研条件优良，高度重视师资队伍建设，全面支持青年人才发展。

　　一、招聘岗位设置

　　南京大学历史学院拟面向全球招聘有志于从事历史学和考古学领域各主要研究方向的优秀青年人才到学院工作。本次招聘准聘助理教授、准聘副教授不超过2名;特别优秀的高层次人才岗位另议。招聘研究方向包括：

　　(1)中国史

　　(2)世界史

　　(3)考古学

　　二、申请条件

　　(1)遵守中华人民共和国法律和法规，热爱教学科研事业;

　　(2)具有良好的师德师风，恪守学术道德，勤勉工作，无犯罪记录，无违反师德师风和学术道德惩处记录;

　　(3)一流的学术背景：具有相关学科领域的博士学位，具有一流教学科研机构的学习、工作经验，熟悉相关领域国际前沿的研究动态;

　　(4)出色的教学能力：应具有能够胜任本专业核心基础课程和前沿课程的教学能力，掌握良好的教学方法，具有较强的语言表达能力;

　　(5)突出的科研成果显示度与未来科研发展潜力：应有相关研究方向的成果显示度，对相关研究领域有原创性观点，未来研究计划思路清晰，具有较好的学术潜力。

　　Tenure-track Faculty Positions in the School of History,

　　Nanjing University

　　The School of History first emerged in 1902 as the National History Department of Sanjing Normal School. In 1952, after the amalgamation of National Central University’s Departments of History and Border Politics and the Department of History of Jinling University, Nanjing University’s History Department was born. In December 2014, the Department of History was transformed into the School of History. Today, the School consists of the Department of Chinese History, the Department of World History, the Department of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage, and several world-class research institutes, including the Institute of International Relations, and the Institute of Chinese Border Politics.

　　The School of History now has three first-level disciplines: Chinese History, World History and Archaeology. It has a total of 80 faculty members, including 3 Chang Jiang Scholars, and 3 Distinguished Young Scholars.

　　The School of History has a long and illustrious history. It not only has an internationally renowned faculty, but also offers a comprehensive range of degree programs covering undergraduate, master's, doctoral and postdoctoral education. As the School places great importance on the professional and intellectual developments of its faculty members, it provides first-class facilities and excellent administrative support for teaching and academic research.

　　1. Positions description

　　We now have 2 tenure-track positions available (includingtenure track assistant professor andtenure-track associate professor). Higher positions for particularly outstanding scholars are available and application will be considered individually.The candidates are expected to teach and research in the following areas:

　　(1) Chinese History

　　(2) World History

　　(3) Archaeology

　　2. Qualifications

　　The applicant should

　　(1) abide by the laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, and have a passion for teaching and research;

　　(2) abide by the ethics of teachers, uphold academic integrity, be willing to work diligently, and have no criminal record or record in breaching the ethics of teachers and/or academic integrity;

　　(3) have a first-rate background in academic training—specifically, a PhD in relevant disciplines, experience in studying and/or working at first-rate teaching and research institutions, and knowledge of the latest international trends and development in the relevant research field(s);

　　(4) have outstanding teaching abilities—the applicant should be able to teach core and frontline courses in the corresponding discipline, and have sound teaching methodology and strong verbal skills;

　　(5) demonstrate outstanding research output and potential—the applicant should have publications in his/her field of research, original ideas about relevant fields of research, a clear vision about future research plans, and good potential for further academic development.

　　3. Application Materials Required

　　(1) Cover letter (specifying research area and position level).

　　(2) Curriculum Vitae (including a list of publications).

　　(3) Three recent representative papers (or books).

　　(4) Research Plan.

　　(5) Three reference letters.

　　(6) Teaching Statement.

　　4. Working at Nanjing University

　　A successful applicant will be provided with:

　　(1) An annual salary (to be worked out individually)

　　(2) A start-up fund for research

　　(3) Qualification to supervise graduate students

　　(4) The university provides short-term lodging and housing subsidies. Applicants recruited can purchase commercial housing offered by the university at a special discount

　　(5) The university provides assistance with children’s schooling at primary and secondary school levels.
